Indians handle Polar Bears; McDuffie, Start secure win in 4th; Rogers pulls away

Waite 51, Woodward 31

Latisha Craig scored 14 points to lead the Indians to a City League girls basketball home win on Wednesday night.

Taylor Works added 12 and Janae Kenney 11 for Waite, which raced out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and closed the game with an 18-9 advantage in the fourth.

K'Shawna Barnett paced Woodward with 18 points and Andrea Johnson had 11.

Start 39, Bowsher 35

Torie McDuffie scored five of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Spartans secure the win at home. Jasmine Bobo added 10 points.

Isis Dixon finished with 10 points to lead Bowsher, which led 27-26 going into the fourth.

Rogers 69, Scott 16

Toriana Easley (13 points), Charon Sweeney (12), and Sasha Dailey (10) helped the Rams to a 38-6 lead after one quarter in a home City League win.

Satoya Rivers scored eight to lead Scott. Nine different players for Rogers (15-3, 10-0 CL) scored at least two points.
