Southview cruises past Bowsher

Three of the Rebels' starters were not available to play because of sickness or injury.
That contributed to Southview making the most of the situation and rolling to a 67-17 victory over Bowsher.
Southview coach Tim Nottke utilized his bench liberally and still had no trouble against Bowsher. Bowsher coach Daryl Dorn went into the game without Celeste Wade (concussion), Ceira Bryant (concussion), and Rachel Marter (flu).
Cougars senior guard Bailey Hejl led the way with 12 points as 10 Southview players scored at least four points.
"Coach Dorn was without three of his starters, but to his credit, his kids came out and played hard," Nottke said.
The Cougars (15-6) jumped out to a substantial lead right from the beginning of the game. They finished the first quarter owning a 19-6 advantage and never looked back.
Lauren Huntsman provided nine points, while Natalie Harlan and Emily Westphal pumped in eight apiece against a Bowsher team that scored only two points in the second quarter and three points in the third quarter.

"For the most part, we're just trying to bring up some freshmen and keep the team's spirit up," Dorn said.
The second quarter resulted in the game being blown wide open as Southview outscored Bowsher 20-2 to go into halftime with a commanding 39-8 lead.
Nottke called on plenty of nonstarters to play a major portion of the minutes after halftime. Yet, the Cougars were still able to add on to their lead.
Southview completed the third quarter with a 51-21 advantage over Bowsher and never looked back the rest of the way.
The Cougars face Northern Lakes League and crosstown rival Northview on Thursday with a chance to sweep the season series.
"We have to use this as a dress rehearsal for Northview," Nottke said.
