The road to Columbus begins this weekend with sectional wrestling tournaments.

The area's top Division I team, Clay, will compete at its home gym Saturday, hosting a sectional that includes Northern Lakes League champion Perrysburg.

The Eagles, who qualified for the team state dual meet tournament, finished the season ranked sixth in the state poll. The top four in each of the 14 weight classes will advance to the D-I district at Mansfield.

In Division II, Wauseon finished the regular season ranked eighth in the poll.

The Division II sectionals will be held Friday and Saturday at Bowling Green State University’s Stroh Center.

The D-II meet will feature 26 teams, divided into North and South divisions.

The top four from each weight class in both the North and South divisions will advance to the district at BGSU.

In Division III, Delta captured the inaugural team state dual meet title last Saturday and finished ranked second in the state coaches poll. Archbold was ranked fifth.

Delta will compete at the D-III Archbold sectional, while other sites for area teams are Elmwood and Plymouth.

The top four in each weight class from each site will advance to the D-III district at BGSU.
