Genoa, Delta capture D-III sectional wrestling championships

BLOOMDALE — Six Genoa wrestlers won championships as the Comets captured the team title Saturday in the Division III sectional meet at Elmwood.

Genoa scored 230.5 points, while Lake was runner-up with 164.5, followed y Woodmore (132.5), Otsego (123.5) and Elmwood (109).

Champions for the Comets were Max Reeder (132 pounds) Drew Keenan (145), Jake Fejes (152), Mike Snider (170), Jay Nino (220), and Cody Buckner (285).

Three Otsego wrestlers took titles, with Buddy Limes winning at 120, Trenton Soto at 126 and Jordan Hendrix at 160.

Evan Ulinski (106) and Thomas Schnittker (113) earned titles for Woodmore.

Galen Powers of Patrick Henry was the champion at 182 .

Dalton Ishmael of North Baltimore took the 195 title.

Panthers prevail

ARCHBOLD — Delta took the team Division III sectional title at Archbold behind five individual winners.

The Panthers finished with 238.5 points. Archbold was second with 189.5, followed by Ayersville (164.5). Liberty Center and Paulding tied for fourth with 132.

Delta’s champions werer Jake Spiess (106 pounds), Kyle Keller (120), Dustin Marteney (126), Tyler Fahrer (145), and Jared Mattin (160).

Logan Day (138) and Travis Jaramillo (195) won for Archbold.

Liberty Center’s Jimmy Spieth was the champion at 170.

Chance Veller of Swanton won a title at 285.
