St. John's, Northview hockey teams appear on collision course for district title game

St. John’s Jesuit, the champion of the Northwest Hockey Conference’s Red Division, and Red runner-up Northview, the defending state champion, appear on a collision course for the March 2 district championship game at Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter.

Top-seeded St. John’s (25-7-0), Ohio’s second-ranked team, advanced to Friday’s 7 p.m. district semifinal against fourth-seeded Bowling Green by pounding Maumee 13-1 in a quarterfinal.

Northview (24-6-1), the No. 2 district seed, advanced by blanking Perrysburg 10-0 in its quarterfinal. The Wildcats will take on third-seeded Findlay in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

St. John’s and Northview split their games this season. The Titans won 4-2 and Northview won 1-0.
