Wyse's 18 points lead Archbold girls past Liberty-Benton, 47-36

Archbold dominated play in the middle two quarters to defeat Liberty Benton 47-36 Wednesday night in a Division III girls basketball regional semifinal at Central Catholic.

The Blue Streaks (25-1) also sealed the win by converting 25 of 32 free throws.

Archbold held a 10-2 edge in the second quarter and 11-7 advantage in the third.

Cassidy Wyse fired in 18 points, including six in the key second quarter, to top the Blue Streaks. Jesse Fidler chipped in with 10.

Katie Simon’s 20 points were high for Liberty-Benton (19-6), and Rachel Myers added 10.

Archbold plays the winner of tonight’s semifinal between Columbus Africentric and Bucyrus Wynford in Saturday’s final at 1:30 p.m. in Lexington.
