■ Key stats: He averaged 26.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.7 blocked shots per game for the 18-4 Kicking Mules, who went 11-1 in Southeastern Conference Red Division play to win the first boys basketball title in school history. A Michigan all-state first-team player as a junior, he holds school records for career points (1,901), rebounds (889), and blocked shots (220), as well as single-season records in all three categories (573, 240, 82). As a junior he led Bedford to 18-6 record and to the Class A regional final. He was All-SEC four times, and he scored in double figures in 86 of 88 career games. Despite his superb basketball talent, Lamb will play college baseball at Michigan as an outfielder/pitcher.

■ Coach says: “Jackson is the most complete player that I’ve ever coached. We’ve asked him to do just about everything — scoring, rebounding, and I think he’s probably our best defender. He’s relieved pressure, and we relied on him for leadership. His impact on what we’ve done the past two years is immeasurable. He has done things and set records that will probably never be broken at Bedford. For him to not play basketball again, I think, is a tremendous loss because of the strides he made [in basketball skill] from last year to this year.
