Toledo Christian senior Eric Cellier has been named to the Division IV first team on the 2013 Associated Press boys All-Ohio basketball teams released on Tuesday night.
Cellier, a 6-foot-2 guard who averaged 21.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, led the Eagles to 20-2 regular-season finish, Toledo Area Athletic Conference championship, and a No. 9 state ranking.
Joining him on the first team is University of Toledo-bound Zach Garber, a 6-10 center from Vanlue who averaged 23.0 points, 12.1 rebounds, and shared Division IV player-of-the-year honors with Jett Speelman of Newark Catholic.
In Division III, Ryan Geise, a 6-0 junior guard (13.5 points) from second-ranked Blanchard Valley Conference champion Liberty-Benton (21-1), was named to the second team.
Tyson Dietrich, a 6-3 senior center who averaged 14.6 points per game from 16-4 Northwest Ohio Athletic League co-champion Archbold (16-4), was selected to the third team.
Whiteford junior Lake named All-State Class C
Whiteford junior Colin Lake earned Associated Press Class C All-State honors. The 5-foot-6 junior guard averaged 24.1 points and 3.8 steals per game and knocked down a total of 51 3-pointers.
Lake was AP All-State his sophomore season, as well, and has scored 1,161 points during his career.
Michigan’s Mr. Basketball, Monte Morris of Flint Beecher, was named the Class C player of the year. Morris led the Bucs this season with 23 points, 10.3 assists, five rebounds, and six steals per game.
