College signings in several sports for 12 more area athletes

April has been a busy month for signings for local athletes in several sports.

■ Toledo Christian senior Eric Cellier will play basketball at Taylor University. Cellier, a 6-foot-2 guard, was Division IV All-Ohio first team after averaging 21.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.

■ Toledo Christian senior volleyball player Carly Cannon will play at The Citadel. Cannon earned All-Toledo Area Athletic Conference second team.

■ Central Catholic senior Cliff “C.J.” Bussey committed to play basketball for Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, Tenn. The 6-foot-1 guard was named all-district honorable mention. He averaged 10.5 points and 3.6 rebounds.

■ Northview senior Connor Hartnett signed to play basketball at Wittenberg. Hartnett, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 20.3 points, and 7.6 rebounds this season and was named All-Northern Lakes League as a junior and senior. He is Northview's all-time career scorer with 1,064 points.

■ Eight Notre Dame athletes have signed: Jacqueline Burns will play lacrosse for Defiance. Courtney Haubert will compete in cross country and track and field at Ashland. Jenna Inman will play softball at Findlay. Sarah Mallow will run cross country and track and field at Cleveland State. Kerigan McNamara will play tennis at Otterbein College. Lindsey Myers will run cross country and track at Kent State. Kristin Stobinski will run cross country and track and field at Siena Heights. Sydney Woodrow will play lacrosse at Lourdes.
