Rossford knocks off BG; Napoleon slips by Defiance

Rossford 13, Bowling Green 7

Rossford quarterback John Allen racked up 274 yards of total offense and passed for two touchdowns as Rossford won the seasson opener at home.

Noah Asmus caught a 16-yard pass from Allen and Dylan Losiewicz added a 25-yard touchdown catch.

Allen was 11-21 for 149 yards passing and carried 18 times for 125 yards.

Cam Carsey reeled in a 80-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Donaldson for the Bobcats' only score.

Donaldson threw for 207 yards, but had two interceptions.

 

Springfield 67, Swanton 14

The Blue Devils used a punishing ground game to maul the visiting Bulldogs.

Aren Harris rushed for three touchdowns and 125 yards, and had another on on 85-yard kickoff return.

Elijah Todd scored twice and ran for 61 yards for the Devils. Springfield finished with 493 yards on the ground to 131 for Swanton.

Nevada Parker caught a scoring pass from Scott Seymour and David Robinson, Stephan Robinson and Bryant Koback all ran for Springfield TDs.

Brian Chamberlain booted seven PATs for the Blue Devils.

Sophomore Robbie Gilsdorf was a bright spot for the Bulldogs, hauling in eight catches for 190 yards. Matt Rainey and Antonio Cervantes were on the receiving end of scoring passes from Bryce McComb for Swanton.

 

Napoleon 33, Defiance 28

DEFIANCE — Blake Dunbar’s 15-yard touchdown run with 1 minute, 34 seconds to play helped the Wildcats cap a fourth-quarter comeback.

Bryant Schlade ran 23 times for 80 yards and four touchdowns, the last of which cut the deficit to 28-27 with 11:15 left. Dunbar ran for 141 on 18 carries, part of a 371-yard ground attack. Devon Armour added 13 attempts for 80 yards.

Defiance quarterback Will Batt threw TD passes of 5, 69, 71, and 6 yards to Trey Guilliam.

Batt completed 21 of 33 passes for 388 yards. Guilliam finished with 16 receptions for 314 yards.
