Combs scores school-record 6 touchdowns as Liberty-Benton rolls to win

FINDLAY — Austin Combs scored a school-record six touchdowns, and the Eagles’ defense did the rest during a Blanchard Valley Conference blowout Friday night.

Combs rushed for 208 yards on 26 attempts as Liberty-Benton quickly turned a 14-0 halftime lead into a big win. The Eagles’ defense recovered a fumble and grabbed two interceptions.

McComb’s lone touchdown came during the fourth quarter, after Combs’ fifth score, via an 87-yard kickoff return by Mitch Schroeder, who had five catches for 40 yards.

Fairview 46, North Baltimore 30

SHERWOOD — Andy Robinson threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns to lead Fairview.

For North Baltimore, Lane Bishop threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more. He completed 28 of 43 passes for 273 yards and threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Solly that brought North Baltimore within eight points at 38-30 early in the fourth quarter.

But Fairview answered moments later with a 69-yard TD pass from Robinson to Christian Hugg.

Bishop also ran 108 yards on 29 carries. Gabe Del Los Reyes led the Tigers with nine receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Pelton had two interceptions.

The Apaches outgained the Tigers in total yardage 448-436.
