NBC Football: Scott sets Genoa record with 336 passing yards

Genoa 70, Fostoria 30

GENOA — Logan Scott threw for 336 yards, a school single-game record, as the Comets rolled up 776 yards of offense Friday night in a Northern Buckeye Conference win.

Scott completed 12 of 21 passes for three touchdowns for the Comets (6-0, 3-0). The scoring passes covered 26 yards to Alex Hayes, 43 yards to Noah Goodrich, and 76 yards to Casey Gose.

David Nutter rushed for 129 yards on five carries and scored a TD. Ryan Espinoza ran for two scores. Adding Genoa touchdowns were Soloman Mutchler, Jake Wojciechowski, and Cody Pickard, who also booted field goals of 20 and 25 yards. Mutchler added a 28-yard field goal.

Fostoria (0-6, 0-3) was led by Jayden Stanton, who scored on 68 and 78-yard passes and a 63-yard run. He finished with four catches for 161 yards.

Cardaro Diaz completed 5 of 6 passes for 176 yards, and Juan Mendez returned an interception 30 yards for a score.

Ryan Phillips (21 carries, 115 yards) had a 45-yard TD run for Fostoria.

Woodmore 49,Elmwood 22

ELMORE — Jake Matwiejczyk completed 20 of 26 passes for 352 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Wildcats (4-2, 1-2). He also ran for one score.

Matwiejczyk’s favorite target was Malachi Brown, who caught TD passes of 52, 43, and 50 yards and finished with four receptions for 155 yards. The other TD passes covered four yards to Brad Bringman and 25 yards to Dan Sprinski.

Eban Ulinski added eight catches for 121 yards for the Wildcats. Tony Rozzi ran 11 times for 99 yards and one score.

Elmwood (1-5, 1-2) was led by Noah Baker, who completed 10 of 13 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns (25, 10 yards) to Bryan Aufdencamp. Austin Isaacs (21 carries, 54 yards) scored the other TD for the Eagles. Aaron Arnold added five catches for 71 yards.

Eastwood 21, Lake 0

PEMBERVILLE — The Eagles shutout the Flyers to deal Lake (5-1, 2-1) its first loss of the season.

Jake Schmeltz tossed two touchdown passes to Michael Flipse (40, 21 yards) for the Eastwood (4-2, 2-1, NBC). Brennan Seifert added a touchdown on a six-yard run.

Rossford 27,Otsego 0

TONTOGANY — Dylan Losiewicz rushed for 150 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1 NBC).

Kyle Sherman, who ran for the first score, was 11-of-13 passing for 130 yards and a TD to Losiewicz to give Rossford a 13-0 lead in the first quarter. Rossford led total yards 405-140.

Otsego (3-3, 1-2) was led by Cody Downs, who completed 12 of 24 passes for 67 yards and ran 14 times for 43 yards.
