  • Imagine yourself on vacation at a luxury resort. Your rooms are large and beautifully appointed. A lake sparkles in the sunshine, just outside your bedroom. Interesting people gather at the pool, and join in activities in the clubhouse. Your every need is attended to.

Now imagine yourself at home at 4717 Waterbury Lane in Monclova s Waterside neighborhood. The picture is very similar to the one painted above but the vacation never ends.

This is living in Waterside, and this lifestyle and this home -- can be yours if you are the winning bidder when it comes up for auction in June.

The home is one of Waterside s best models. The exterior is pale pink brick, with cream shingle siding. A poured concrete driveway leads to the two-car garage, and a walkway brings you past the mature landscaping to the covered front porch.

The front door is painted a vibrant red, and is flanked by sidelights. Inside, the foyer has a beautiful hardwood floor. A staircase, complete with a custom banister, leads to the second floor loft.

To the left is a sitting room that could, with its double closet, easily be a second bedroom. Next is a full bath which includes a vanity in a light pickled wood finish and cultured marble top. Farther down the foyer, on the right, is a closet for guests coats and storage under the stairs.

The foyer opens into the great room. This large, open room feels even larger, thanks to the soaring ceiling. To the left is the open kitchen.

Cabinets in a light pickled finish are topped with tan Corian, and a lovely wood floor is underfoot. An island snack bar offers both extra dining and workspace. The Moen faucet and undermount kitchen sink work well here, as does the faux tile backsplash. The laundry room is located just off the kitchen.

A crystal chandelier descends from the ceiling in the dining area. Just steps from the kitchen, it is an ideal place to enjoy a meal with friends.

The living area is quite comfortable. A gas fireplace with a marble surround and hearth sports a white wood mantle the perfect place to display your treasures. Enjoy the warmth from the easy-start fireplace on chilly winter evenings.

Off the great room is the jewel of this home, the sunroom. Extensive trompe l oeil painting makes it feel as though you are in an arbor of beautiful blue morning glories, with a bird, a butterfly and a bug for company. Above, the ceiling makes it look like blue sky even on the stormiest day. Large windows here offer a beautiful view of the lake, the private dock, and the large fountain. A door leads to the poured concrete patio, a perfect spot for your gas grill.

Also off the great room is the master bedroom. The cathedral ceiling here adds drama to this space, and the bay window offers another view of the sparkling lake.

A dressing area off the bedroom is the height of convenience, with a built-in makeup table, a large walk-in closet to the right, and a full bath to the left. The bath includes a long vanity, the commode, a step-in shower with two seats, and a linen closet.

The second floor of the home includes a balcony with a wonderful view of the great room. A loft area here makes a comfortable sitting area; there is another room on this level that could be used as an office or a guest bedroom.

Waterside homes offer so many amenities, including an Energy Star rating for lower energy bills; a community clubhouse with a fitness center, pool, and activities; lawn service and snow removal.
