Election revealed need for change

12/12/2004

The recent election, and the expense of it, has proven that we have to make some changes in our election procedure. I think the first thing we should do is limit the president to one six-year term. He would be unable to run again. This would save millions of dollars.

The president spends the latter part of his first term getting re-elected and only works on the business of the country for about six years anyway. I also believe that whoever is running against the president should resign from his or her present office to spend full time on the election. If candidates don't think they can win, they should not be running for office in the first place.
