Democrats also guilty of obstruction

1/9/2012

Your Jan. 6 editorial "Good move on Cordray" points out your opinions of the "obstructionist Republicans" in Washington. But what are your opinions of what Democrats have done and are doing in Wisconsin and Indiana?

Republicans were elected too. Did you forget?

Media wrong on Paul race card

What is driving GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul's campaign is his message of what a constitutional-limited government will do for all races ("Paul's racist link," guest editorial, Dec. 22).

He says all races would benefit from a currency system based on gold and silver to protect people's savings, a noninterventionist foreign policy, wealth created by free markets that would create jobs, and a return to freedom and responsibility.

Americans will quickly come to understand that the racist card applied by the mainstream media is simply a tactic to protect the status quo.

Paul not liberal, but conservative

The writer of the Dec. 30 Readers' Forum letter "No debate about it, Gingrich is the one" says Ron Paul needs to be disqualified from GOP debates because "he believes in a direction for the country that is what Democrats believe."

No Democrat, and not even another Republican candidate, would dare touch entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid in a way that Mr. Paul promises he would. No other candidate is more conservative than Mr. Paul.

I understand why a conservative may be reluctant to support Mr. Paul, based on his foreign policy. But to accuse him of liberalism is wrong.

Thieves stole gifts, but not joy

To the person or persons who broke into my car as well as other vehicles on Christmas Eve: My family and I want you to know that we forgive you. As Christians, we are praying for you.

Our pastor said that joy isn't found under the Christmas tree, and isn't found in presents that someone has worked for to buy, only to have someone who is not willing to work steal them. Joy is found in a heart that knows Jesus.

We thank our church family for being there for us. We thank the Toledo police who were supportive, even on a holiday.

Even though we don't know who or where you are, God does. We will continue to pray for you.
