Remember trains in tourism drive
Your Oct. 1 editorial “Cruise control” said: “The port authority seeks voter renewal next month of a 0.4-mill, five-year property tax. This is an especially opportune time for authority officials to tell local taxpayers what they plan to do to attract visitors to the region, by air and water.”
Why did you omit rail? Well over 100,000 Amtrak passengers pass through Toledo annually, with more than 32,000 getting on or off. A train is a great tourism vehicle for northwest Ohio. We need to get on board.
Please do not forget about the value of passenger rail service for our area.
