Company challenges Isofoton’s stand

7/27/2014

In response to the June 29 Readers’ Forum letter “Isofoton: Solar company was good deal”: As the chief executive officer of Air Force One Inc., I am disappointed to learn that Michael Peck, chairman of Isofoton North America, denies the facts of our dispute with Isofoton.

The facts of the case are simple: Isofoton stiffed Air Force One for more than $60,000. Air Force One sued. The dispute was argued in court, and Air Force One won an injunction that entitles my company to a portion of Isofoton’s assets. Mr. Peck should simply apologize.

Air Force One had been contracted to install mechanical/heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems at the Isofoton plant in Napoleon.

Isofoton is quoted in Franklin County, Ohio, public court documents stating that “the completion of the project coincided with our current cash crunch situation.”

Isofoton never raised the issue of a construction defect as the reason for nonpayment of Air Force One invoices until the lawsuit was filed. At the project’s final walk-through, the systems installed by Air Force One were operational.

Isofoton never lost any production time because of temperature or humidity issues. Any allegations to the contrary are baloney. Shame on Mr. Peck and Isofoton for not owning up, and apologizing, to suppliers who served the company and are now left with unpaid bills.

Air Force One is celebrating its 30th anniversary in Columbus, and is happy to have an office in, and have been a part of, the northwest Ohio community for more than 10 years.

Air Force One has won numerous awards for customer service, for being a top workplace, and for growth. We deliver high-quality work and professional service to our customers, support our associates, and pay our vendors.

Despite Mr. Peck’s unfounded allegations, Air Force One and our associates look forward to growing our business, giving back to the community, and being part of northwest Ohio for many years to come.
