The Mud Hens are joining forces with Fifth Third Bank to support Food for Thought, a social justice nonprofit dedicated to feeding the hungry, during the team’s home stand from Monday through June 2.

Fans attending the Mud Hens’ home games on those days are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to the ballpark. Boxes will be placed at all entrances to collect donations.

Fifth Third chose the food drive as this year’s company-wide service project in honor of Fifth Third Day, each year on May 3. Bank employees have provided more than 890,000 meals to those in need over the past two years, with a goal for 2014 of providing at least 530,000 meals.
