Flu-shot locations to be updated every week

10/5/2004

Nurses at health departments areawide will soon begin offering flu shots. October and November are considered the best time to get such vaccinations.

In addition to health departments, flu shots are offered at a variety of other locations. Public health experts are making their annual reminder that influenza is a serious disease, and they urge the public, especially those at high risk, to get vaccinated. Each year, influenza kills more than 30,000 people.

Below are the upcoming local flu-shot locations. The Blade will publish an update every Monday in the Heath Section of the paper.

Prices for flu shots are usually around $18 to $20, though Medicare does cover the cost. For those outside of these counties, call your local health department for flu-shot information.
