Flu shots urged; clinic tomorrow at MUO

Health officials are reminding the public to wash their hands, cover their mouths when they sneeze, and otherwise limit their exposure to germs during the winter as flu activity picks up.

Disease surveillance indicates "flulike" illness is beginning to increase locally, according to the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department. The department encourages anyone who hasn't received a flu shot and still wants one to get vaccinated.

The department and the Medical University of Ohio are hosting a flu shot clinic from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in MUO's emergency-room waiting area.
