Father of UT student to address organ donors

4/17/2009

The father of a University of Toledo graduate who was an organ donor and helped five people receive life-saving transplants will speak at an event Sunday aimed at raising awareness about organ donation.

Carl Hunlock, whose 22-year-old son, Kyle, died eight days after accidently falling through a roof he was inspecting in 2006, will speak at Walk for a Cause.

The event is planned for2 p.m. Sunday in the Morse Center on the second floor of Dowling Hall on UT s Health Science Campus, formerly the Medical College of Ohio.

Kyle s story is a compelling one, Mr. Hunlock said. I want to honor the things my son stood for, which were leadership and giving, as well as increasing awareness about the dire need for organ donors.

Proceeds will benefit Donate Life Ohio and Second Chance Trust Fund. To register for the walk, call 419-340-5878.
