FOSTORIA — The former Norton Manufacturing Co. is to have a new life as a medical office building.

SMI Crankshaft, Fostoria, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corp. of Japan, has donated Norton's former headquarters building, 455 West 4th St., to Fostoria Community Hospital. Sumitomo purchased the Norton Co. in 2008.

Dan Schwanke, president of the hospital, said the building will be a medical arts building.
