Toledo Hospital received the 2012 Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corporation, which is based on a consumer survey. The hospital, part of the ProMedica system, is one of 42 across the country to receive the honor for 17 straight years.

The award is based on a survey of more than 250,000 households across 300 different areas in the country. Locally, residents from Fulton, Wood, Ottawa, and Lucas counties were polled for the award. The ranking is based on factors that range from best quality, best doctors, best nurses, and best image and reputation.

“We are delighted that residents have consistently chosen Toledo Hospital and deeply appreciate their confidence and trust,” Kevin Webb, president of ProMedica Toledo Hospital, said in a statement. “To receive this award 17 years in a row reflects the commitment of our physicians, nurses, and staff in setting the region’s standard for providing high quality, patient-centered care.”
