Skin-cancer screenings to be held on Tuesday
6/10/2013The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour will stop in Toledo on Tuesday to offer screenings in the organization’s customized RV between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Rite Aid store, 5765 Secor Rd.
Educational materials on the proper way to perform monthly skin checks and to protect skin from the sun will be available, along with sunscreen samples and other giveaways.
The tour, which began May 14 in Hoboken, N.J., will make about 50 stops in 11 states, concluding Aug. 30 in Redwood City, Calif. The program began in 2008.
Skin cancers detected and removed early are almost always curable, according to the foundation.
