Mental-health fair today at Mercy College

Several local organizations will sponsor a mental-health fair today to increase awareness about suicide in Lucas County.

The 1 to 6 p.m. event at Mercy College of Ohio, 2221 Madison Ave., will feature a special exhibit called a visual healing and education path that will use shoes and stories to recognize those who lost their lives to suicide and to suicide survivors.

The event will also feature speakers and performances from local high school students.

Sponsoring the health fair are Mercy College of Ohio, the Lucas County Suicide Prevention Coalition, the National Alliance of Mentally Ill of Greater Toledo, and Lourdes University.
