Adrian symphony names Tennessee man conductor

4/24/2001

ADRIAN - After a yearlong search, the Adrian Symphony Orchestra announced its conductor Sunday at the final concert of its season.

Bill Kenyon, chairman of the search committee, introduced John Dodson, the former music director of the Bryan Symphony in Cookeville, Tenn.

The committee auditioned more than 100 candidates for the post that was vacated by David Katz last spring. Mr. Katz left the orchestra after 12 years to work with other orchestras and to compose a series of operas.
