MORENCI - Authorities have recovered the car that two men used to flee after a Lenawee County church burglary Monday.

The car, a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, was found in a field in Medina Township just west of Morenci, sheriff's Capt. Jack Welsh said yesterday. The two men who broke into the Community Bible Church near Blissfield were still being sought.

During a pursuit west on Gorman Road after the burglary, three shots were fired from the car at sheriff's Deputy Kirk June, who was struck once in the right shoulder. Deputy June was treated at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian.
