Housing authority gives second grant to Adrian

ADRIAN - The Michigan State Housing Development Authority has given Adrian a second $555,500 that the city will use to rehabilitate 33 rental housing units to meet local health and safety standards.

Adrian recently implemented a citywide rental inspection ordinance, leading to a need for money to help keep rental units in compliance, said state Rep. Doug Spade (D., Adrian), who announced the award.

Adrian received a $555,500 grant from the housing authority in July to buy seven properties that will assist needy families, Mr. Spade said.
