Suspects in shooting face added charges

ADRIAN - Two Adrian men accused of taking part in a series of drive-by shootings in October were back in court yesterday facing additional charges.

Carlos Torres, Jr., 18, and Terry Trevino, 19, were arraigned in Lenawee County District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, discharge of a firearm at a building, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Mr. Trevino is in the Lenawee County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond. He had already been arraigned on two counts each of assault with intent to murder, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The teenager is charged with discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle and discharge of a firearm at a building.

Mr. Torres is being held without bond. He has been arraigned on two counts each of assault with intent to murder, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The men were two of three Adrian teenagers wanted for their parts in the series of shootings, which began with an Oct. 6 altercation at a party. Also arrested in connection with the shootings was Matthew Oliverez, 18, who was held in the Lenawee County jail without bond.
