BLISSFIELD - A woman who suffered a severe head injury when her moped collided with her husband's moped in Blissfield Township has died of the injury in the Medical College of Ohio Hospitals in Toledo, authorities said.

Marjorie Lou Fischer, 65, was pronounced dead Wednesday.

Mrs. Fischer was riding a moped along with her husband, Charles, on Garno Road about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, when she failed to notice that her husband stopped ahead of her. Mrs. Fischer's moped struck the rear of her husband's moped, and she was thrown from the bike, according to troopers at the Michigan State Police post in Adrian.

Mr. Fischer was not hurt. Neither rider was wearing a helmet. Helmets are not required for people older than 19 when riding mopeds, troopers said.
