ADRIAN - A Rome Township man who held police at-bay for four hours after they responded to a domestic violence complaint at his home will be arraigned today in Lenawee County District Court.

Bruce Lynn Murray, 44, is charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The standoff, which occurred about five miles west of Adrian, ended at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. Lenawee County Sheriff Larry Richardson said his deputies were dispatched to the house on Forrister Road and U.S. 223 just before 7 p.m. on a domestic violence call. The caller was able to flee the house before the standoff began.

During the incident Mr. Murray talked with relatives, a Michigan State Police sergeant, and officers at the scene and was talked into surrendering.

The sheriff said that Mr. Murray made two attempts on the woman's life.
