Police arrest boyfriend in assault case

ADRIAN - A fit of rage more than two weeks ago left a local woman with serious head injuries and initiated a manhunt for the estranged boyfriend who allegedly hit her with a brick, police said.

John Robert Rosalez, 19, of Adrian was arrested Tuesday and was charged with one count each of assault with intent to murder and of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent.

He was charged with violating probation related to a unarmed robbery charge for which he was sentenced to 90 days in jail earlier this year. He was in the Lenawee County Jail in lieu of $1.5 million bond.

His former girlfriend, Felecia Glambin, 18, also of Adrian is recuperating from her injuries at home.

Michigan State Police arrested Rosalez after searching for him for nearly two weeks. He was found in an Adrian home, police said.

The search began July 29 after Ms. Glambin arrived at the house she lived in with Rosalez and his mother. Police said an argument erupted, and an enraged Rosalez allegedly picked up a brick and threw it at the victim through the partially open window of a vehicle in which she was sitting.

The driver of the vehicle, a friend of Ms. Glambin, and the victim's 1 1/2-year-old child were unharmed. Ms. Glambin was taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center where she was treated for severe head injuries.

“I don't think they're sure at this time,” Sgt. Robert Sinclair said of the extent of Ms. Glambin's injuries. “She has no recollection of what happened.”

Sergeant Sinclair said he is unsure of the state of Rosalez's relationship with the victim, only that the two had been living together but had since broken up. Ms. Glambin could not be reached for comment. At the time of the incident she stopped at the home to pick up some of her belongings, police said.
