Man in black satin coat sought in bank stickup

MAYBEE, Mich. - Authorities were searching yesterday for a man who allegedly robbed a Maybee bank and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, Monroe County sheriff's deputies said.

The man walked into the Republic Bank, 9040 Raisin Rd., Maybee, about noon yesterday, told the teller he had a gun, and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene in a van, which was recovered by authorities a short time later.

The suspect was described as a white man with a dark complexion, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a black satin coat.

Deputies are asking anyone who might have with information about the robbery to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
