EAST LANSING, Mich. --- Playing on the road for the first time this year, University of Michigan was beaten 26-20 by Michigan State in overtime today.

MSU's Larry Capers scored a 23-yard touchdown run in overtime. UM's Tate Forcier threw an interception in the end zone on the Wolverines' overtime possession.

The 22nd ranked Wolverines (4-1, 1-1) were unable to generate much offense all day until Forcier connected with Darryl Stonum for a 60-yard touchdown with 4:03 to play. From there, UM forced a three-and-out, setting up a drive at its own 8-yard line. Forcier led the Wolverines on a 92-yard scoring drive capped by a 9-yard TD pass to Roy Roundtree, sending the game into overtime.

It is the first time since the mid 1960s that MSU (2-3, 1-1) has won consecutive games in this rivalry.
