No. 11 Notre Dame gets 13-6 win over No. 18 Michigan

    SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Kyle Brindza's second field goal helped No. 11 Notre Dame to a 13-6 win over No. 18 Michigan tonight at Notre Dame Stadium.

    Brendan Gibbons scored Michigan's only points on a pair of fourth-quarter field goals.

    Notre Dame (4-0) finished with six turnovers, and intercepted Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson four times. Robinson finished 13 for 24 passing with 138 yards. Robinson also had 26 carries for 90 yards. Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees finished 8 for 11 passing with 115 yards, and scored Notre Dame's only touchdown on a 2-yard run in the third quarter.

    Michigan (2-2) has a bye week next weekend, then opens its Big Ten schedule Oct. 6 at Purdue.

    FIRST HALF: Tommy Rees' touchdown with 1:21 left in the first half helped Notre Dame to a 10-0 lead over Michigan tonight at Notre Dame Stadium.

    Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o intercepted Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson less than four minutes into the second quarter, but the Irish couldn't complete the drive and had to settle for a 33-yard field goal by Kyle Brindza to take a 3-0 lead over Notre Dame at 4:51 of the second.

    Tthe Wolverines and the Irish combined for seven interceptions in the first half, Te'o's second interception set up Notre Dame's 8-play, 48-yard drive, capped off by Rees' 2-yard touchdown at the end of the half.
