Michigan suspends 3 players prior to bowl appearance

The Michigan football team announced today that it has suspended three players prior to the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 against No. 11 South Carolina.

Cornerback J.T. Floyd, punter Will Hagerup and linebacker Brandin Hawthorne have been suspended for a violation of team rules, per a statement from Michigan, and will not travel to Tampa, Fla., for the bowl game. The Wolverines leave Dec. 23, in preparation to face the Gamecocks.

On Friday, Michigan coach Brady Hoke announced that kick returner and running back Dennis Norfleet has been moved to cornerback and could play against the. Gamecocks in the Outback Bowl.
