Michigan Wolverines face South Carolina in Outback Bowl

TAMPA -- Bruce Ellington caught a 32-yard touchdown pass with 11 seconds left in regulation to secure South Carolina's 33-28 win over Michigan today in the Outback Bowl.

Ellington's touchdown capped a fourth quarter in which South Carolina and Michigan (8-5) combined for three touchdowns, and a quarter in which Jadeveon Clowney's thundering hit on Vincent Smith appeared to give momentum back to the Gamecocks (11-2).

Clowney's hit caused the football to pop out of Smith's hands - and his helmet to pop off his head - and Clowney's fumble recovery set up Ace Sanders' 31-yard touchdown with 8:06 left in the fourth to give the Gamecocks a 27-22 lead.

But on the ensuing drive, Michigan needed 11 plays to take a 28-27 lead on Jeremy Gallon's 17-yard touchdown with 3:29 left, before the Gamecocks kicked off a 10-play, 70-yard game-winning drive.

Denard Robinson ended his career at Michigan with 100 yards on 23 carries and became the NCAA's all-time rushing leader among Football Bowl Subdivison quarterbacks with 4,495 yards.
