    ■ Notes: A week after Penn State handed Michigan its first loss, the Wolverines have to rediscover their rushing offense. Behind quarterback Devin Gardner, only two players have produced yardage in the last two games: Fitzgerald Toussaint and Derrick Green, who combined for 28 yards on 30 carries against the Nittany Lions. As a result, Michigan coach Brady Hoke said the offensive line will again likely be shaken up. … Sophomores Nate Sudfeld and Tre Roberson will rotate at quarterback for the Hoosiers. Sudfeld was 14 for 30 for 137 yards in last week’s loss at Michigan State, while Roberson was 11 for 17 for 122 yards and two touchdowns and was intercepted once. Sudfeld is second in the Big Ten in passing average (267.3 yards) and second in total offense (268.7). … Gardner had 24 carries (5.04 yards a carry) at Penn State, an uncharacteristically high number for a quarterback. He doesn’t object to running the ball but said this week that his team needs to boost its running game, which has averaged 173.2 yards. … Indiana hasn’t won at Michigan Stadium since 1967. … Hoosiers assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Doug Mallory is a 1988 Michigan graduate who played under Bo Schembechler and is and the older brother of UM secondary coach Curt Mallory.
