ANN ARBOR — Michigan announced today the suspension of center Graham Glasgow for part of spring practice and for the Wolverines' 2014 season opener.

In a statement, Michigan said Glasgow's suspension is for "a violation of team expectations." Michigan opens the season Aug. 30 against Appalachian State.

Glasgow, a redshirt junior, played in nine games at center and four at left guard for the Wolverines in 2013, and was expected to be Michigan's starting center this season.

Michigan coach Brady Hoke told reporters today that he would not comment further on Glasgow's suspension, and that his status for playing in the spring game April 5 has not been determined.

Glasgow's suspension opens up the spot for St. John's Jesuit graduate Jack Miller or redshirt freshman Patrick Kugler.
