ANN ARBOR - The Michigan football program announced today in a statement that Kyle Bosch, an offensive lineman, has taken an indefinite leave of absence.

“Kyle Bosch has taken a leave of absence for an undetermined amount of time for personal reasons," Michigan coach Brady Hoke said in a statement. "We ask that his privacy be respected at this time. We wish him the best and look forward to his return.”

Bosch, a 6-foot-5, 303-pound sophomore, played Saturday in Michigan's 52-14 win over Appalachian State. He was one of two players penciled in on this week's depth chart as UM's No. 1 right guard, with redshirt senior Joey Burzynski. Bosch played in five games as a true freshman in 2013, with three starts.

Michigan (1-0) plays at No. 16 Notre Dame (1-0) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in South Bend, Ind.
