Psychic stuns soap star with baby news
11/2/2000A psychic surprised soap actress Kelly Ripa on Live with Regis yesterday by blurting out the news that Ripa is pregnant with her second child.
“I haven't even told my bosses yet!” said the actress, who has starred as Hayley Vaughan on ABC's All My Children for 10 years.
Ripa was co-hosting with Regis Philbin on the daytime talk show (seen here on WTVG-TV, Channel 13) when guest psychic Char Margolis began relaying messages she said she was receiving from Ripa's dead grandmother, Esther.
Ripa's jaw dropped when Margolis stated there was a second baby on the way.
“I haven't told anybody! Not even my sister-in-law!” shrieked the actress, who is married to soap actor Mark Consuelos, who once played her love interest on the show. The couple have a 3-year-old son.
“You heard it here first!” crowed Philbin.
Margolis apologized for making the announcement so bluntly and asked if it would affect Ripa's role on All My Children.
“No, it's fine!” said Ripa. “The writers have been waiting for this to happen.”
