2/18/2006

Despite reports to the contrary, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes aren t splitting.

At least, that s the story from Cruise s attorney And it looks as if Cruise intends to sue Life & Style magazine over its story that s causing all the trouble-inparadise

gossip.

In a story on the MSN Web site, Kat Giantis quotes Cruise attorney Bert Fields as follows: This is a disgusting and malicious story. It is unequivocally

false and I have already demanded a retraction I will be sitting down with Tom in

the next couple of days to discuss this story, and ultimately it s his call as to whether we bring a lawsuit. But if it was up to me, I would sue.

Life & Style, in a cover story headlined Split!, alleges that the couple have called off their nuptials but plan to keep up the charade of a romance until after their offspring arrives this spring.

In the article, one supposed friend is quoted as saying, Tom can t let on yet that it s

over. That s not his way of doing things. So right now they re together but not together. It s a really weird situation and unhealthy for both of them.

Concludes the chatty buddy, Tom and Katie feel they don t have enough in common.

Family differences, religious issues they just have too much to overcome.
