Oliver Cooper picked up two MTV Movie Award nominations for Comedic Performance and the new category On-Screen Dirtbag for his role as party maestro in the R-rated high school party gone wrong comedy Project X. This is the first major film role for the 22-year-old from Sylvania Township, who moved to Los Angeles to be an actor after attending Arizona State University for a year.

The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards will be presented June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif., and broadcast live on MTV. Fans choose the winners through online voting, which began Tuesday morning.

The son of Wendy and Mike Cooper, he is a 2008 graduate of Sylvania Northview High School.
