LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Film Office says the fourth installment in the “Transformers” movie franchise has been approved for a $20 million incentive and will shoot this spring in the Detroit area.
In a news release today, the film office says “Transformers 4” was awarded the incentive on $81.9 million of projected in-state expenditures.
Two of the previous three “Transformers” movies filmed scene in Michigan, including the original “Transformers,” released in 2007, and No. 3, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” which was released in 2011.
The state film office says the new movie will take place soon after the end of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” when a great battle left a city torn.
