MOOSIC, Pa. - Kevin Sefcik had three hits, three RBIs and scored three times as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre beat Toledo 7-3 last night in the International League.

Sefcik singled and scored to spark a two-out rally in the second inning. He hit two RBI singles and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in his next three plate appearances.

Jose Cabrera (1-1) got the win by allowing one run in 21/3 innings of relief.

Because of an injury to pitcher Ken Pumphrey, the Red Barons started reliever Jeremy Wedel, who has pitched exclusively in relief since he was in Single-A in 1998. Wedel lasted 32/3 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits.

Toledo starter Shane Loux took the loss, giving up six runs on nine hits in 51/3 innings.

Patrick Lennon and Jhonny Perez had three hits apiece for the Mud Hens, who had 14 hits.

Travis Chapman, Damon Minor and Jesse Levis each had a pair of hits for the Red Barons.
