Indians' Peralta is named IL's MVP

Indians farmhand Jhonny Peralta was named the International League's Most Valuable Player, while his manager at Buffalo, Marty Brown, was named the league's top manager.

Peralta, who also was named the IL's top shortstop, hit .333 with 15 homers and 85 RBIs for the Bisons. He and teammate Ernie Young, a designated hitter who played for the Mud Hens last season, were Buffalo's two representatives on the postseason all-star team. Young hit .298 with 25 homers and a league-leading 95 RBIs.

The Mud Hens did not have a player named to the team.
