FORT MILL, S.C. - The Mud Hens continue to have the top one-two power punch in the International League, and Eddie Bonine continues to take full advantage.

Bonine went the distance and improved his record to 7-0 in an 8-1 victory last night over the Charlotte Knights. Much of his offensive support came from Mike Hessman and Jeff Larish. Hessman hit a pair of solo homers and easily leads the IL with 14. Next on the IL list is Larish, who added one last night and now has 10.

Hessman went 3-for-5, Larish 2-for-3, and each had two RBIs.

Both are also in the IL RBI stratosphere as Larish has 29 and Hessman 27.

Freddy Guzman also had two hits - he's hitting .385 - as the Hens pounded out 10.

Bonine gave the Knights eight hits - Brad Eldred had three of them. He had five strikeouts and walked only one.

WILLIS WITH HENS: Tigers manager Jim Leyland told reporters yesterday that pitcher Dontrell Willis will make his second rehab start with Toledo early next week. The Hens are on the road until May 19.
