CHARLOTTE - The struggle to score runs for the Toledo Mud Hens against Charlotte continued last night as four Knights combined for a six-hit 2-0 shutout victory before an announced crowd of 1,983.

Charlotte right-hander Justin Cassel (1-4) earned his first decision of the season after limiting the Mud Hens to two hits while fanning six and walking two in five innings.

Toledo right-hander Eddie Bonine (0-1) gave up a run in each of the first two innings and didn't receive any

offensive support in an otherwise solid pitching outing. Bonine went the distance, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out three.

The Knights jumped ahead 1-0 in the first on a two-out, run-scoring base hit by Josh Kroeger. Andy Phillips scored on Kroeger's hit after reaching base on a double to right field one batter earlier.

Donny Lucy gave Charlotte a 2-0 lead when he tagged a two-out base hit to center field that brought home Brian Myrow.

The two runs proved to be more than enough for the Knights, who are riding a three-game win streak.
