INDIANAPOLIS - The first game of the Mud Hens road trip got off to a rough start as Toledo lost to the Indianapolis Indians 4-2 last night.

Indianapolis starting pitcher Tom Gorzelanny dominated for five innings, giving up four hits, two unearned runs, two walks and striking out 12 to earn the win.

The Indians then called on the bullpen to finish the game, and Mike Koplove, Jason Davis and Chris Bootcheck combined to throw four shutout innings, giving up four total hits, one walk and striking out two.

The Indians scored in the first inning, but the Mud Hens came back to take the lead in the second.

Brent Clevlen hit a double and Brent Dlugach reached on an error to give the Mud Hens a pair of base runners. Mike Hessman came through with a two-RBI double to temporarily put the Hens on top.

In the fourth, Indianapolis regained the lead. Hector Gimenez hit a solo home run to tie the game. Chris Snelling then scored on a hit by Shelby Ford.

Toledo's Ruddy Lugo took the loss, giving up eight hits, four earned runs, three walks and striking out five in six innings.
