BUFFALO - Two games. Zero runs.

After winning three straight games, the Toledo Mud Hens laid a pair of goose eggs in Saturday's doubleheader against the previously-struggling Buffalo Bisons.

The two teams were rained out Friday night.

Jon Niese (5-6) went the distance in the first game, allowing just two hits in seven innings - one by Brent Dlugach in the fifth and one by Don Kelly in the seventh.

In the fourth inning, a throwing error by Hens pitcher Chris Lambert (4-7) off Emil Brown's infield single allowed Cory Sullivan to scramble to third. Sullivan had reached with a single to center. He scored the game's only run when outfielder Nick Evans hit a single into left field.

It did not get any better for the Hens in the nightcap.

Brown scored first for the

Bisons in the bottom of the second inning on a double by third baseman Mike Lamb.

Lamb scored in the fifth on a Wilson Valdez sacrifice fly.

Kelly and Max St-Pierre went 2-for-3 for Toledo. Scott Sizemore had a double, the Hens' only extra-base hit in the doubleheader.

Scot Drucker (7-3) suffered the loss after allowing just two runs on four hits in five innings.

Buffalo's Nelson Figueroa (6-4) got the win, going the distance and allowing seven hits.

The teams meet again today before the Hens return home for 10 straight games.
